Winter dirt and grime!

Winter is a dirty time of year

I don't know about you, but to me, not only is winter dull, dark and depressing, it also seems to be very dirty and grimy!
The streets are damp and muddy, there's salt and grit everywhere and it all inevitably, ends up being walked into our homes.
We have the doors and windows closed constantly at home to keep the heat in, there's no fresh air circulating and the use of fires and central heating seems to increase the amount of dust.

Roll on Spring I say!!

Soon enough, the snow will melt, the sun will shine and the world will come alive.

There’s nothing quite like that first warm ray of sunshine in Spring. It turns all that cold, grey winter misery into a distant memory and, lets you know that there are brighter times ahead.

The World Comes Alive

The long nights are over! Increased number of daylight hours is good for the mind, body and soul.

Springtime is seen as a time of growth, renewal, of new life being born, and of the cycle of life once again starting. It is also seen more generally as the start of better times. At this time of year, we begin to feel less sluggish and become more open to inviting changes – both big and small – into our lives.

Spring Cleaning = Cleansing

Spring has always been a time for carrying out deep cleaning of our homes. It makes us feel invigorated, satisfied and accomplished. It's a psychological and physical way of saying GOODBYE to Winter.

It's possible that we spring clean simply because we wake up from a winter long melatonin-induced stupor and find more energy as the days grow longer when spring arrives. After all, it's easy to allow a house to get a little gross around the edges when you're sleepy.
