The flood clean up continues

Almost 2 weeks after the freak storm that caused widespread flooding in Coventry and Many parts of West Midlands, the fire and flood restoration technicians at Fitz2Kleen are still busy assisting property owners with the clean up and drying .
All of the clients that we were asked to visit have now had drying equipment installed and their properties have been cleaned and sanitised in preparation for any remedial work to be carried out to help restore the property to a pre incident condition.
Drying equipment is installed for 2 reasons, initially to dry the property after any standing water has been extracted and secondly to prevent secondary damage to belongings that weren't affected by the flood.
As with any escape of water or ingress of water there is also a risk of mould and bacteria, which is the reason for sanitising with an anti-microbial, this help to kill off mould spores and bacteria which can be harmful to health if not dealt with appropriately.
In the weeks following a flood the properties will be revisited by our technicians on a regular basis to take moisture readings and ensure that the drying process is progressing as planned.
